The Practitioner
Behind the Method
Knot Me exists because Sharissa refused to accept that pain and injury had to be her new normal. Twenty years later, that refusal is the foundation of every session she delivers.

A Torn Meniscus. Eighteen Months. No Surgery.
Sharissa came up through competitive dance — a discipline that trains you to move through discomfort, to push past what your body is telling you. As a dance major at Wayne State University, she studied anatomy and kinesiology alongside her performance work, building a foundation in how bodies move, why they break down, and what makes them hold together.
Then came the meniscus tear. Doctors recommended surgery. She chose a different path.
Over eighteen months, she developed her own recovery program — drawing on her anatomy training, her reflexology certification, her understanding of how soft tissue responds to consistent, targeted work. She healed without surgery. And what she built to heal herself became the foundation of what she now delivers to every client who walks into Knot Me.
Knot Me is named after what she removes: the knots — the hard, tense muscle fibers that restrict movement, generate pain, and compound over time when left unaddressed. Every session is built around finding them and releasing them.

Twenty-plus years of this work. In studios, in spaces, wherever the table goes.
"Pain and injury don't have to be your new normal. The body is designed to move — and with the right work, it can get back there."
— Sharissa, Founder & Stretchologist, Knot Me
The Background Behind the Work
Sharissa's practice is built on formal training in the sciences of human movement — not just technique, but the underlying anatomy of why certain work produces certain results.
The Relationship Is What Produces Results
Continuity is built into the model at Knot Me. When you come back for your second session, the work starts where the first one left off — not with someone who's meeting your body for the first time. That continuity matters for outcomes: your practitioner knows your restrictions, your history, and how you've responded to previous work.
That's why clients drive past closer options. It's not proximity they're after — it's the difference between seeing someone who's competent and seeing someone who genuinely understands their body.
Physicians, surgeons, and medical professionals who understand bodywork send their own patients here. That's the clearest signal we know of for what the work actually delivers.
The Outcomes That Drive Everything
“I feel like I cheated on you. I tried something else for proximity and realized they're not the same. My body has never felt better until you touched it. I leave feeling great and my mobility improves every time I see you. This is more than worth the drive.”
— Client, late 50s · Hip replacement + spinal fusion
“This is a miracle service. I have double knee replacements and the pain used to radiate throughout my legs, hips, and lower back. The pain releases every time I come in.”
— Client, mid-50s · Double knee replacement
“A client with cerebral palsy came in unable to walk without braces. After consistent sessions, she walked out of the studio without them. She was in tears. So was Sharissa.”
— Client · Cerebral palsy
An Infused Art of Stretching, Acupressure, and Reflexology
Stretchology — as practiced at Knot Me — isn't a single modality. It's the integration of practitioner-assisted stretching, acupressure, and reflexology into sessions designed around what your body actually needs that day. The combination is what produces outcomes that a single modality typically can't.
Every client receives an individualized session. What you experience in a 50-minute Stretching & Acupressure session is built around your specific restrictions, history, and goals — not a standard sequence applied to everyone who books that slot.
